Product SummaryAcme Monaco produces Orthodontic Archwires of the highest quality. Archwires are manufactured to any required shape with multiple types of wire construction available. Below we have defined the capabilities and some of the materials and shapes available. Arch Styles AvailableAside from custom archwire shapes, the following styles are available: Material Types: Stainless Steel, Super Elastic Nickel Titanium, and Martensitic (Heat Activated) Nickel Titanium, and Beta Titanium. Midlines Available: Ink centerline, Acid Etch, Inner Horizontal Dimple, Outer Horizontal Dimple Material InformationStainless Steel : Acme Monacos stainless steel archwires are manufactured out high quality 304 and 304V material. The integrity of the material is highly scrutinized to ensure that brittleness conditions do not exist and that the material has excellent ductility characteristics. Stress relieving processes are utilized to provide superior spring properties without brittleness. The material is carefully selected and inspected to ensure a high luster finish free from pits, nicks, blemishes or any other surface imperfections. All materials used in the manufacture of Orthodontic Archwires are drawn and rolled to tight tolerances ensuring consistency throughout the lot. Super Elastic Nickel Titanium: Acme Monaco offers Super Elastic Nickel Titanium in round, square, and rectangular cross sections. The Super Elastic Nickel Titanium is fully austenitic at room temperature and will provide constant force when installed in the mouth. This wire can be bent and altered by the Orthodontist to allow for the necessary custom bends or loops. Martensitic (Heat Activated) Nickel Titanium: Martensitic Nickel Titanium is also offer in round, square, and rectangular cross sections. The Martensitic characteristic that we refer to is the "soft" state of the Nickel Titanium material. This material gives you the "best of both worlds", offering you a soft easy manipulating wire at room temperature, and a fully resilient wire after insertion into the mouth. The Austenitic finish temperature for these wires is at approximately 82° F. This will ensure the wire is fully transformed at body temperature and offer superior treatment of severe malocclusions. Beta Titanium: Acme Monaco's Beta Titanium products
consist of the following four metals; Titanium, Molybdenum, Zirconium, and Tin.
This Beta Titanium material produces forces which are approximately 40% stronger
than that of Nickel Titanium, but have only 42% of the stiffness of stainless
steel. The tensile strength of the material is in the range of 200,000 psi. Midline InformationInk Midlines: Acme Monaco can supply ink midlines on all material types and archwire styles. These midlines come in a variety of colors for your custom applications. Our ink midlined product has been tested following the suggested Tripartite guidelines. Acid Etched Midlines: We can supply acid etch midlines on custom archwire shapes as well as many of archwire styles which we currently produce. The acid etching process permanently etches the archwires with one (1) acid etch line for lower archwires and three (3) acid etch lines for upper archwires. Inner Horizontal Dimpled Midlines (center bend): Acme Monaco can supply Inner Dimples on many archwire styles. The small inner bend fits between the central brackets to prevent sliding of the archwire in either direction. Since the bend is in the horizontal plane, cosmetic appeal is maintained due to the minimal visibility of the bend. Outer Horizontal Dimpled Midlines (center bend): Acme Monaco also supplies Outer Dimples on many archwire styles. The small outer bend fits directly between the central brackets to prevent sliding of the archwire in either direction. Since the bend is in the horizontal plane, cosmetic appeal is maintained due to the minimal visibility of the bend. Acme Monaco is licensed by Dr. Arthur L. Wool to sell the Horizontal Dimpled Archwires and therefore, we will pay the royalty costs. |
